Seattle Cannabis Co is one Light Rail ride from SeaTac. Twenty-five minutes north to Othello Station, then a five-minute walk up Rainier Ave, and you're at the closest locally owned shop to the airport. We've been in Rainier Valley a long time.
Light Rail from the airport
The 1 Line runs from SeaTac/Airport Station up through Rainier Valley and into downtown. From the terminal, follow the signs for Light Rail. The station connects to the airport through the parking garage, about a five-minute walk from baggage claim.
- SeaTac/Airport Station to Othello Station: 6 stops, about 20 minutes.
- Othello Station to 7266 Rainier Ave S: 5 minutes on foot, straight north up Rainier Ave.
Door to door from baggage claim runs 30 to 35 minutes if you keep moving.
The 1 Line comes every 8 to 12 minutes during the day, every 15 in the evening. Last northbound train from SeaTac leaves around 12:30 AM.
Driving from SeaTac
If you grabbed a rental:
- I-5 north: about 20 minutes to the Rainier Ave exit, then surface streets to 7266 Rainier Ave S. Fastest way.
- MLK Jr Way S: about 25 minutes, a little more scenic through the valley.
Free parking out front. No meter scramble.
Hours that matter when you've just landed
- Open daily, 8 AM to 11 PM.
- Pickup orders: last online order is 15 minutes before close.
Land at 9 PM and want something on the way to the hotel? You've got time.
What to bring
- Valid 21+ photo ID. Washington takes out-of-state driver's licenses, US passports, US passport cards, military IDs, and Tribal IDs. International passports work too. Expired IDs don't.
- Cash. Every Washington dispensary is cash only. Federal law keeps the major card networks out of cannabis. There's an ATM in the lobby (figure a $3 surcharge).
- A reusable bag is handy but not required.
What travelers usually grab
Folks coming from the airport tend to land in one of two camps at the counter:
- One hotel-room evening: pre-rolls (single or 5-pack), low-dose gummies (2.5 or 5 mg), a small bit of flower (an eighth). Easy to dose, easy to carry around Washington.
- Multi-day or Airbnb stay: flower (eighths to quarters), edibles (10-piece packs), maybe a vape cartridge if you've got a battery or pick up a disposable.

The legal stuff that actually matters
- Don't fly with it. Cannabis is federally illegal. TSA can hand it to local law enforcement, and even though Seattle won't prosecute, you cannot board a plane with cannabis. Consume it in Washington, leave it in Washington.
- Don't drive impaired. A cannabis DUI is the same as an alcohol DUI under Washington law. Light Rail and rideshare are everywhere.
- No consuming in public. Smoke-free hotel rooms are off-limits for smoking. Vape pens are quieter and lower-odor, which is why people pick them. Edibles are the most discreet of all.
- No consuming on our property. The exit bag is for transport, not for the parking lot.
About the shop
Seattle Cannabis Co has been on Rainier Ave since 2018. Same neighborhood, same staff, locally owned. The original shop opened in 2010, before Washington had recreational cannabis at all, which makes us one of the oldest cannabis retailers in the state. Rainier Valley is home now.
Worth a side-trip
Step out our door and you're in Rainier Valley, the most diverse zip code in the country for years running. The food is world-class, and a five-minute walk in any direction lands you in a different cuisine.
